Cancer Patients
If you are a cancer patient, you probably have questions. In
this section, you will find answers to those questions and various resources
where you can find additional information. Choose a category from the panel on the right to learn more.
First, there are some things cancer patients should know:
- More people are living with cancer now than ever before, and new ways to
treat cancer are being discovered daily.
- Cancer is NOT a death sentence. In
fact, more people survive cancer than not today.
- It is good to continue with the
normal routine of life, as much as possible. Work,
school and outside activities all have a positive emotional, and possibly,
a therapeutic effect for the patient. In some studies, reducing stress
has been positively linked to improved outcomes from cancer treatment.
- Think positively. The desire
to live and to fight the cancer has been correlated with improved outcomes
and extended life spans after a cancer diagnosis.
- Inform yourself. Taking an
active role in your cancer therapy and treatment empowers many patients,
and can have a positive effect on mood and therefore results.
