NURSING AND PHYSICIAN ASSESSMENT

Medical/Lifestyle evaluation
OncoLogics' nursing staff is dedicated to assisting its patients with any medical questions or needs that may arise. A nurse will conduct a complete medical history review, including current and prior medications and physical conditions. They will discuss any problems the patient may have and answer questions concerning their health, diagnosis and treatment plan.

Physical Exam
The physician will conduct a complete physical examination before treatment and will discuss the diagnosis, appropriate treatment prescribed and other treatment options which may be available to the patient. After the exam, the nurse will provide instructions to the patient for nutritional and dietary needs, proper skin care and any medications that may be prescribed. Each patient is encouraged to ask questions or express concerns they may have about treatment or recommended procedures. The patient's understanding is important to OncoLogics and essential to proper care.

Ongoing Care
During the course of treatment, the patient will meet with his/her physician and a nurse once a week to monitor their general health and make any needed adjustments to the treatment plan. During these visits, the physician will review the patient's progress and answer any questions the patient may have regarding treatment or medical needs. The patient's weight and vital signs will be recorded, and blood may be drawn to evaluate the patient's tolerance to the treatment prescribed.
