Stereotactic Radiosurgery
and Fractionated Radiosurgery
Stereotactic Radiosurgery
A technique using programmed single doses of radiation delivered
through multiple narrow moving beams to treat brain tumors.
Treatment radiation beams target the tissue in ultra-precise
fashion with accuracy tighter than 1 millimeter.
Stereotactic “Fractionated” Radiosurgery
Technically similar to stereotactic radiosurgery but instead
of a single dose the treatment course is divided into multiple
smaller doses or fractions given daily over several weeks.
